Alexi Matousek MD, MPH

Dr. Matousek is a surgical resident at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA and a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health.  He has a long personal history living and working in the mountains of rural Haiti and has devoted his career to improving surgical services for vulnerable populations.

Hospital Albert Schweitzer Haiti

The mission of Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti (HAS) is to collaborate with the people of the Artibonite Valley as they strive to improve their health and quality of life.  HAS has been providing inpatient and community healthcare in rural Haiti for 60 years.

The Center for
Surgery and Public Health

The mission of the Center for Surgery and Public Health is to advance the science of surgery through research that informs policy and program development for safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in the US and globally.

Sana advances a unique multidisciplinary integrative approach to improving global health: leveraging technology to overcome resource limitations, focusing on analytics to drive quality improvement, and an educational prgram for capacity building to promote locally sustained innovation.

Litearcy for Haiti, Inc.

Literacy for Haiti, Inc was founded in 1997 by Cliff Matousek, Ed. D. to combat poverty and promote the cause of Christ in the mountain village of Damier Gesse in rural Haiti.  Incorporated as a 501-c3 non-profit organization, LfH supports the surgery program in the mountain communities.
